Starbucks Happy Hour 2017 | Half Off Any Frappuccino May 5-14

Starbucks Frappuccino Happy Hour

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! For Starbucks and Frappuccino fans that is.

Frappuccino Happy Hour is making a comeback once again! May 5-14th between 3-6pm you can enjoy half off any Frappuccino beverage. The promotion will run for 10 days as usual.

Frappuccino Happy Hour

This is a pretty significant change from previous years where Happy Hour was between 3-5pm with an extension until 6pm for Starbucks Reward members. Extending the promotion to all guests for the additional hour is a big move and we’re excited that more people will get a chance to enjoy half off Frappuccinos!

No official word yet on what the bonus will be for Rewards members, but we’re hoping to see an extended time until store close or perhaps some extra days like we saw last year.

We recommend taking advantage of the half off promo to try some of our Secret Frappuccino recipes without breaking the bank!

We can’t wait and will be adding new Frappuccino recipes to the Secret Menu over the next couple of weeks so stay tuned!

Mermaid Frappuccino | Starbucks Secret Menu

Continuing with the trend of mythical characters, we have the Mermaid Frappuccino breaking out onto the social media scene. The newest addition to the magic themed Frappuccinos seems quite fitting for the brand considering that Starbucks earliest logo was of a twin tailed mermaid or siren.

Like its fiery counterpart, the Dragon Frappuccino, the Mermaid Frappuccino is made from ingredients regularly found at all Starbucks locations making it available year round. So unlike the limited edition Unicorn Frappuccino, you won’t have trouble finding this one. Just be sure to let your Barista know the recipe since it isn’t an official menu item.

The Mermaid Frappuccino is a lovely mix of bright pink berry with green matcha drizzled around the cup. It’s sounds delicious and photographs beautifully! We do need to warn you that the drizzle takes time to make as it is not readily available, and not all locations will do this for you.

Mermaid Frappuccino recipe:

  • Vanilla Bean Frappuccino
  • Add freeze dried whole blackberries
  • Line the cup with green mixed drizzle (recipe below)
  • Top with whipped cream and additional drizzle or matcha powder

For ease of ordering the mermaid Frappuccino can also be ordered as a Pokémon Go Frappuccino without raspberry syrup.

Drizzle Recipe:

  • 8 pumps of white mocha sauce
  • 3 pumps toasted coconut syrup
  • 3 heaping scoops of matcha
  • Mix in pitcher until smooth and pour into gravity bottle

If you’re open to it, your local Starbucks may have suggestions on another method of creating the green drizzle. We’ve seen several locations do a purple drizzle instead of the green by adding some freeze dried blackberries to white mocha sauce, like the Dragon Frappuccino.

If you prefer the strawberries and creme Frappuccino, there’s also an iteration of the Mermaid Frappuccino seen above:

Alternate Mermaid Frappuccino Recipe:

  • Strawberries and creme Frappuccino
  • Line cup with freeze dried blackberries and white mocha sauce drizzle
  • Top with whip and additional drizzle

Starbucks Dragon Frappuccino – The Magic Continues

Starbucks Dragon Frappuccino Collage

Now that the limited time Unicorn Frappuccino is no longer being served, and most Starbucks locations no longer have the ingredients to make it, a new mythical Frappuccino is making its rounds on the interweb and the good news is that this one is here to stay!

The magical Dragon Frappuccino was concocted by some creative Baristas to ease the disappointment for those looking to order the Unicorn Frappuccino. And guess what, we’re hearing that it tastes even better than the Unicorn Frappuccino! That may be because it mostly uses ingredients that are regularly carried, and that we’re used to seeing in other drinks. That and the Unicorn Frappuccino flavor was either a ve or hate situation if you weren’t a fan of sour.

The Dragon Frappuccino on the other hand, does not disappoint! It’s sweet and just as eye pleasing. It’s bright green with purple drizzled along the cup but we’ve also seen some stores get quite creative and use red or pink as well. The recipe can vary from store to store depending on what ingredients are available on hand.

Here’s the recipe that’s most common recipe being distributed:

  • Green Tea Frappuccino
  • Add vanilla bean powder
  • Swirl of berry syrup at the bottom of cup
  • Top with whip and purple sprinkles
  • Optional: Add coconut syrup

Now, apparently this berry syrup can be quite the challenge to find as it was made from the pink/purple unicorn powder and white mocha syrup, so…

Here’s the recipe we recommend since you’re unlikely to find berry syrup:

  • Green Tea Frappuccino
  • Add vanilla bean powder
  • Swirl made from white mocha sryup and dried berries drizzled around cup
  • Top with whip and purple drizzle
  • Optional: Add coconut syrup

A couple of alternatives to berry syrup we’ve been seeing are: dried berries mixed with white mocha syrup or strawberry syrup for a pink/reddish look instead of purple. You could also mix strawberry syrup with dried berries as well for extra color. We’d recommend the dried berries mixed with white mocha syrup to create the purple drizzle. It stands out more than the pink, and while it’s a different shade than the berry syrup, is still beautiful and vibrant.

Starbucks Unicorn Frappuccino – Official Menu Item Coming April 19th!

Starbucks Unicorn Frappuccino Collage

The Unicorn Frappuccino is the newest fad taking over hashtag Starbucks on social media and the internet! It’s being promoted as the flavor-changing Unicorn Frappuccino made only with the finest rainbows.

Upon first glance, it’s a VERY brightly colored purple blended beverage with blue syrup drizzle, topped with whipped cream and purple and blue sprinkles. Reminiscent of cotton candy and definitely well named as the Unicorn Frappuccino.

So if you’ve seen chatter about the drink on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter or Pinterest, we’re here to confirm that YES, it’s real! The official release date for the beverage is April 19th, though some of you lucky Starbucks insiders may have gotten a taste already and a few Starbucks locations have already started sampling. **The Unicorn Frappuccino has been released and will be available for five days! If you happen to visit a less frequented Starbucks, it may be available longer if the store has leftover ingredients from the promotional period.

The Unicorn Frappuccino will be limited edition and because it uses special ingredients or if you wish to preserve the magic, “unicorn dust” (and warning not to read on to the recipe).

While we official recipe has been kept rather hush hush, you know we love to share so here’s what we’ve been told goes into making magic.

Unicorn Frappuccino Recipe:

  • Crème base Frappuccino
  • Mango Syrup
  • Colored with unicorn pink powder
  • Blue Drizzle made from white mocha, classic syrup and sour unicorn blue powder
  • Top with whip and sprinkle with blue and pink unicorn dust

For those of you wondering about flavor, the Frappuccino is sweet and sour, but definitely more to the tangy side especially those sips with the blue drizzle. Think tropical rainbow skittles in drink form.

So now that you know, go forth and enjoy because this time, unicorns are definitely real…at Starbucks.

Starbucks Pink Purple Drink

Turns of part 2 of the ombré Starbucks Secret Menu revolution was right around the corner! The new Pink Purple Drink combines 2 of the hottest Starbucks summer beverages, the Pink Drink and the Purple Drink.

It’s no surprise that the bright hued beauty is taking Instagram by storm. It arguably photographs even better than the Matcha Pink Drink we posted a few days ago!

To order the Pink Purple Drink ask for:

  • 1 part Pink Drink (Strawberry Acai Refresher with coconut milk)
  • 1 part Purple Drink (Passion Iced Tea with soy , vanilla syrup & blackberries)

We’ve received quite a few tips on the best way to create the Pink Purple Drink, and any experienced Starbucks go-er will know that these beverages can look quite different depending on the Barista who makes it.

Case and point these 3 different version of the drink. Version 1 on the far left was made as written above with the original 1 part pink drink, 1 part purple drink recipe. It had an issue with curdling which can happen when you introduce soy to the Passion Iced Tea. Version 2 in the middle was made with coconut milk in place of soy so curdling would no longer be a problem and version 3 was made with coconut milk instead of soy and has extra blackberries added. Version 3 definitely looks the most similar to the original photo of the Pink Purple Drink.

To order version 3 of the Pink Purple Drink ask for:

  • 1 part Pink Drink
  • 1 part modified Purple Drink (Passion Iced Tea with coconut milk, vanilla syrup & 3 scoops of berries)

Thanks to all the Baristas and fans who wrote in with tips on ordering the new Pink Purple Drink!

Starbucks Matcha Pink Drink | Ombré Green to Pink and Delicious

Starbucks Matcha Pink Drink
Photo via @dailyfoodfeed

This past summer, Instagram feeds everywhere were overtaken with the Pink Drink, Purple Drink, Orange Drink and even Green Drink and Blue Drink. But now, those one-toned beverages are a thing of the past!

Move over and welcome the Matcha Pink Drink, a green and pink ombré delight that will jazz up your Instagram feed to the nines.

The recipe for this rainbow concoction is:

  • 3 parts traditional Pink Drink (Strawberry Acai Refresher with coconut milk)
  • Atop 1 part matcha coconut milk on the rocks

With the popularity of the Pink Drink, pretty much every Starbucks location has experience with putting the beverage together, so ordering this Matcha Pink Drink with the extra addition of matcha coconut on the bottom should not be too challenging.

Could this be the start of a chain of new ombré colored Starbucks drinks? We think it just might be! Let us know if you hear about or come up with anything interesting! For the time being, enjoy our own ombre colored drinks off the Starbucks Secret Menu collection, the Sunrise Slush, Red Mango Explosion and Sunset Refresher.

DunkAroos Frappuccino | Starbucks Secret Menu

DunkAroos Frappuccino | Starbucks Secret Menu

If Dunkaroos were a favorite elementary or middle school snack of yours then this Frappuccino will bring back memories of delicious icing covered cookies and feelings of nostalgia.

Even more so because the dipping snack was discontinued in the US in 2012 and only available to those able to venture north of the border to Canada, where Dunkaroos are still sold.

If you’d like to venture down memory lane without having to visit another country, just step into your local Starbucks and give the Dunkaroos Frappuccino a try! This recipe is modelled after the Vanilla Cookies with vanilla frosting and rainbow sprinkles version.

Here’s the recipe:

  • Start with a crème based Frappuccino
  • Heavy cream or whole milk recommended for consistency
  • Add vanilla bean powder (1 scoop tall, 2 grande, 3 venti)
  • Add cinnamon dolce syrup (1 pump tall, 2 grande, 3 venti)
  • Add white mocha syrup (1 pump tall, 2 grande, 3 venti)
  • Top with whip and cinnamon dolce topping
  • Optional: Add java chips (1 scoop tall, 2 grande, 3 venti)

Passion Coldbuster Tea | Starbucks Secret Menu

Its winter! While it’s a wonderful time for holiday cheer, unfortunately it’s also that time of year when flu and cold season are back in full force.

If you’ve been feeling under the weather lately you know how desperate you can be for just a few hours of relief! After all, holiday parties are no fun when you have a stuffy nose and are relegated to spending your time in the corner coughing into your sleeve.

Good news for fans of our extremely popular Coldbuster Tea, we now have the Passion Coldbuster Tea for your drinking pleasure! Just like the original, the passion version soothes sore throats and helps clear up those sinuses.

Here’s the recipe:

  • Venti tea with one bag of Passion Tango tea and one bag of Emperor’s Cloud and Mist
  • Half steamed lemonade and half boiling water
  • Add a bit of honey

Wondering how the Passion Coldbuster Tea can make you feel better when you’re sick?

It includes lemon which is high in vitamin C and helps reduce inflammation and swelling in your throat while neutralizing your body of free radicals. The added honey has anti-microbial effects and is an effective and natural cough suppressant. Green tea is full of antioxidants to help boost your immune system and passion tea is known for relieving stress and insomnia.

Thanks to Barista Marissa P. Of Harris Teeter, NC for sending us this variation of the Coldbuster! If you have a secret Starbucks recipe you’d like to share, send it to us at StarbucksSecretMenu [at] gmail.com and it could be featured on the site!

Starbucks Pokémon Go Frappuccino | Starbucks Secret Menu

Starbucks is officially jumping on the Pokémon Go bandwagon and  introducing a Pokémon Go Frappuccino!

The drink will be integrated into the game and featured at select locations listed as PokéStops and Gyms. There are appoximately 7,800 stores that will be participating. While you won’t see the Pokemon Go Frappuccino on the actual menu, an image of the drink will appear when you tap on the Starbucks in the game.

But, like most Starbucks Secret Menu beverages, even the limited edition ones, anyone can order it as long as ingredients are in stock and you have the recipe!

Luckily the Pokémon Go Frappuccino doesn’t use seasonal ingredients, so you can order one all year round using the instructions below.

Here’s the recipe:

  • Vanilla Bean Frappuccino
  • Add raspberry syrup
  • Add freeze dried whole blackberries
  • Top with whipped cream

Chances are though that you’ll be able to order the Pokémon Go Frappuccino by name considering its popularity.
